Daniela Cote’s passion for fashion was ignited by her grandmother’s influence, but it was her deep concern for the fashion industry’s environmental impact that led her to redefine her path. Determined to create change, she founded Matergea, a slow fashion brand rooted in sustainability, using plant-based and bio-based materials, and celebrating artisan craftsmanship.

With a professional background as a fashion journalist, Daniela later pursued her creative and business ambitions with an MBA in Luxury Brand Management in Paris. This blend of storytelling and strategic vision shapes her approach to conscious fashion. 

In 2023, Daniela earned first place at MOMAD Talents in Madrid, a recognition that marked Matergea as a rising force in ethical fashion. Since then, her brand has been showcased in prestigious international fairs including Magic Las Vegas through Vegan Fashion Week; Dallas Market; Your Bond in France; Colombiamoda in Colombia, and MOMAD in Spain.

Matergea’s commitment to sustainability and innovation has caught the attention of leading media, with features in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Hola, El Tiempo, and many more.
